‘Magenta’ is a choice form of P. Violacea. The colour of the flowers is a shimmery, saturated beetroot (very distinct both from the common dark pink form and from the indigo forms; there’s more red in it and less blue than in indigo, but the depth of colour is comparable). The scent is strong, slightly more citric than the standard violacea scent, but still dominated by cinnamon notes. One older leaf has a tiny cut - mechanical damage from transport (see the picture). I find that it can flower at any time of year, multiple times per year. Letting go because of an imminent house move.
